Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts has received most of the blame for the Dodgers’ early playoff exit.  Several players are responsible for the early ousting too.

Since the Dodgers’ early playoff ousting on Wednesday night, Dodger fans have been quick to blame Andrew Friedman and Dave Roberts for the abrupt end to the 2019 season.  While Dave Roberts turned in his worst managerial performance in game five, it’s important to remember this was a five game series and Roberts’ fingerprints are not all over the other games like it was in game five.

One of the biggest reasons the Dodgers are now watching the NLCS at home is their struggles with runners in scoring position.  Much like the last two World Series, the offense struggled mightily when they got RISP.  As a team the Dodgers slashed just .135/.340/.351 with runners in scoring position.  Only two teams hit worse in the division series, the Twins and Braves, and both were also one and done in the postseason.

Position by position it’s time to assign blame for the Dodgers’ early playoff exit.
