The MLB playoffs remain the most unpredictable in sports

Sure the Dodgers have come up short in October every year of their current National League West division streak, but it’s hard to say that every season has been a “choke”.  The baseball playoffs remain the most unpredictable postseason in sports.  Who saw the Nationals knocking off the best team in the National and American League?

More from LA Dodgers News

Often times in baseball there is the old mantra that comes true about a team getting hot at the right time, and that is exactly what happened to the Washington Nationals.  They were on the brink of elimination in the Wild Card game and the NLDS but found a way to win and then swept their way to the World Series where they beat the 107 win Astros in seven games.

Fans can debate whether the Dodgers should “go all in” or stay on their current plan of maximizing their window for the longest time period possible.  The postseason remains a crapshoot and once you get in, there is no telling what will happen next.  Most had the Braves and Dodgers on a collision course to the NLCS and both teams were eliminated in the first round.

One thing is certain, and that is the Dodgers need a roster shakeup this off-season.  They don’t need to blow the roster up but they need to upgrade their rotation and find a way to get more consistent offensively against elite pitching.  The bullpen could also use a real setup reliever and even a closer if Jansen doesn’t rebound in 2020.  The off-season is just beginning but there is a lot for the Dodgers to do this off-season.
