ST LOUIS, MO – SEPTEMBER 28: Steve Cishek #41 of the Chicago Cubs delivers a pitch against the St. Louis Cardinals in the seventh inning at Busch Stadium on September 28, 2019 in St Louis, Missouri. (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images) /

Steve Cishek

Steve Cishek had breakout seasons with the Miami Marlins in 2013 and 2014 when he converted 73 saves in 79 save opportunities.  Since then he has bounced around a few stops spending time with the Seattle Mariners and most recently the Chicago Cubs.  Cishek is capable of getting both left and right-handed batters out.  In 2019, he limited lefties to a .216 average and righties to a .206 average.

Over the last three seasons, those splits have held up as left-handed hitters have hit .215 against Steve Cishek while righties have hit .174.  Out of pitchers with 100 batted balls against in 2019, Cishek ranked fifth with an average exit velocity of just 84.5 MPH.  Cishek could be a cheap veteran addition that would bolster the Dodgers’ bullpen for 2020.
