Are the Dodgers the favorites to land Anthony Rendon?

The Dodgers have interest in Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rendon, and Stephen Strasburg, but their best chance to sign a star might be Rendon and it seems like the blue are the favorites to land him.  The Angels and Yankees are reportedly willing to offer Cole whatever it takes to sign him and neither of those clubs is interested in signing Anthony Rendon.  Stephen Strasburg is meeting with teams including the Dodgers, but the Nationals are viewed as the favorites to sign him.

Washington Nationals’ owner Mark Lerner has come out and said the Nats cannot afford both Rendon and Strasburg so if they sign Strasburg they are out on Rendon.  The Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies are two other teams interested in signing Rendon but the Dodgers could outbid both teams if they really want to sign him.  Given that Rendon is open to a shorter-term higher annual salary, he could align on the perfect kind of the deal the Dodgers want to hand out.
