ATLANTA, GEORGIA – OCTOBER 09: Josh Donaldson #20 of the Atlanta Braves hits a solo home run against the St. Louis Cardinals during the fourth inning in game five of the National League Division Series at SunTrust Park on October 09, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. Sign Josh Donaldson

The premier third base bat still on the market is Josh Donaldson.  The problem for the Dodgers is that the Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals, and Atlanta Braves are also pursuing the third baseman.  The Rangers could offer more years to Donaldson since he could always DH in the American League.  He is an underrated defender and a power hitter that would provide a nice spark to the Dodger lineup.

Josh Donaldson could help bridge the gap at third base until Kody Hoese or Corey Seager is ready to take over at third base.  The Dodgers could use another right-handed bat with A.J. Pollock coming off an abysmal postseason series and Donaldson could be a true difference-maker just like Anthony Rendon would have been if he wanted to play in Los Angeles.  If he wants to chase a ring in LA, Donaldson could be a nice pickup for the Dodgers.
