2) Greg Miller

In 2004, it was debatable whether Greg Miller or Edwin Jackson were bigger prospects in the Dodgers system. Jackson was ranked as high as fourth in Baseball America’s annual rankings, while Miller was close behind at eighth.

Miller was named the Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year in 2003, after an impressive season as an 18-year-old in Advanced-A ball, winning eleven games in 21 starts with a 2.49 ERA, and 111 strikeouts over 115.2 innings of work.

The supplemental first round pick from the 2002 draft was drawing comparisons to Sandy Koufax, a tall left-hander with nasty stuff. Unfortunately, injuries would derail his rise to the majors. After missing the entire 2004 season due to a shoulder injury, he was never quite the same again.

The sure-fire prospect never pitched an inning in the major leagues.
