Here are the easy steps to changing your Zoom background so that you can stay connected to the Dodgers.
In these times of social distancing, many of us have been forced to retreat to our homes and into total isolation. That means attending school or working remotely, or even finding alternate ways to get together with family and friends while maintaining safe at home practices. For many of us, that has meant the use of video conferencing tools, and Zoom has become the go-to choice for most.
While for the most part, Zoom is just like any other video conferencing program (Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.), there is one thing that sets it apart from the others. Zoom has a fairly easy and slick way to change your virtual background that works pretty intuitively with your camera.
This is good news for Dodgers fans who may be looking to add a little bit of baseball personality to their meetings. Whether it be Dodgers Stadium, inserting yourself into a celebration photo, or even dropping the team logo behind you, there is a way for you to stay connected to the game and show off your love for the Dodgers at the same time.
Here’s how to show you how to change the virtual desktop on Zoom:
1.) When in Zoom, click on the arrow to the right of “Stop Video.”
2.) A menu should pop-up. Click on the option for “Choose Virtual Background.”
3.) If you already have some loaded (I have a few, including Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and the Bat Cave), they will appear on this screen to choose from. If you recently downloaded a new one, perhaps by searching for “Dodgers Stadium Background” or “Dodgers Logo Wallpaper”, then you will want to click on the “+” button, just under the image to the right. That will allow you to search your computer and add the background from there.
4.) Once you have a full selection of background options, you can choose the one you wish to use from there. In this case, we have chosen a day game at Dodgers Stadium to brighten up those dreary days stuck in the house without baseball.
That’s it. Simply, easy, and adds a little bit of fun to those Zoom meetings we are becoming accustomed to.
Now that you know how to change your Zoom background, what will you choose to represent Dodger Blue in your meetings?
