Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Vin Scully took a fall in his home this week, but he is recovering well.

Legendary broadcaster Vin Scully was hospitalized after falling in his home on Tuesday afternoon, but he is resting comfortably, according to the Dodgers.

The 92-year-old is expected to be released from the hospital soon.

“I won’t be doing anymore headfirst sliding, I never liked it,” Scully said about the fall in a quote posted by the Dodgers on Twitter.

Scully was a Major League Broadcaster for 67 seasons before retiring in 2016. His distinctive voice and smooth delivery acting as the soundtrack of summer for Dodger fans across the world.

Just a few weeks ago, Scully shared a hopeful message to fans from his home in California. He told everyone to “stay safe” amid the coronavirus pandemic and promised that America would get through this current situation like they have countless other challenges that Scully is old enough to have witnessed first hand over the past several decades.

The Dodgers have used Scully to promote various things on their social media account. He provided an update on the renovation project at Dodger Stadium last week. Just the sound of his voice overlaying a baseball backdrop brings warm thoughts to Dodger fans stuck at home right now.

Major League Baseball has been shuttered since March 13 due to the spread of Covid-19. There are a variety of plans being discussed to somehow start the 2020 season, but it seems increasingly unlikely that baseball will return in front of fans at Dodger Stadium, or any venue.

The Dodgers were set to unveil a renovated centerfield area this season, which includes new home run seats past the outfield walls, along with entertainment and food amenities for fans. Dodger Stadium is set to host the MLB All-Star Game in July, but that event will almost certainly be canceled.

While it sounds like Scully’s fall isn’t serious, at his age, you don’t want to hear of anything impactful to his health. Dodger fans everywhere will keep him in their thoughts.
