Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer had his fun during spring training with his one-eye experiment that drew criticism for how outlandish some perceived it to be.

But you knew that’d come back to haunt him. Things like that always do.

The good news? Now Dodgers fans have more of a reason to hate San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr., who just hit his third home run of the series … this one off Bauer after the first two came against Clayton Kershaw.

That gave the Padres a 1-0 lead on Saturday night, but that wasn’t all.

Tatis had a pretty epic troll for Bauer when he was running the bases. After he rounded first, he turned and covered one of his eyes, which was a clear shot at the Dodgers’ star pitcher.

First, Tatis owned Bauer in the MLB The Show trailer. Now? Real life.

The rivalry is now beyond full force and this is only Game 6.

On Friday night, Tatis homered twice on the anniversary of his father hitting two grand slams in the same inning at Dodger Stadium. As they say, how can you not be romantic about baseball?

We’ve been gifted with a lot so far in these first six meetings. Blake Snell called out Bauer. Then Bauer fired back. Mookie Betts made a game-saving diving grab to save a victory last Saturday. The Dodgers scored five runs in extras last Friday to take the first meeting of the season.

Now, to the dismay of Dodgers fans, it’s the Padres’ turn. They’ve won three straight vs LA and are gunning for No. 4.

Admittedly, this is good for the game, something Bauer is always trying to promote. Make the rivalries more heated. Let players be more outspoken. Let everyone have fun and get chippy. Want more fans? This is how you do it.

Next time, though, we’d prefer if it were another shot at Manny Machado or something. Nobody likes that guy.
