Earlier this season, we told you the tale of a partial-capacity Dodgers game where Dodger Stadium security seemed to be a bit out of their element in containing a budding brawl outside the ballpark.

Uh…based on a fan’s camerawork from what appears to be the wake of Wednesday night’s Dodgers shutout loss to the Phillies, security has gotten a bit more active since the team reopened the stadium to full throttle.

On the field, a packed house saw one of the rare sleepy performances from the Dodgers in recent weeks, a 2-0 loss to the Phils after single runs were scored in both the first and third innings.

In other words, we wouldn’t blame you if you got distracted by what went on on the concourse.

Baseball fights are as American as apple pie, Chevrolet, and explaining to your wife why you’ve got stitches now.

In this particular fracas, though, security showed a few fans who’s boss.

Fans captured a fight at the stadium during Dodgers-Phillies.

Stadiums are opening? Nature is healing? But these peoples’ bodies are not.

Although, really, what screams “return to normalcy” more than an all-out brawl behind the bleachers?

As bizarre as it is to say, it’s human nature to watch these videos and feel awful…but also a little tempted to continue watching. Fights in the dark back areas of Dodger Stadium are a tale as old as time, and we’re thankful security was around this time to rustle up the perpetrators, even if it did look a little nasty.

Of course, this is not the first time Dodgers fans have found themselves embroiled in a melee this year. Remember what happened when the Freeway Series got testy in the midst of LA’s worst cold streak in ages?

Angels fans haven’t forgotten. Several punches were thrown in the stands, one of many in a long line of knockouts and vicious brawls we’ve already seen in the first 2.5 months of this season.

Hopefully, things don’t get nastier now that stadiums are opening up. People have been cooped up so long they think it’s standard practice to throw hands during the seventh-inning stretch.

Just stay safe until we get to October, Dodgers fans.

We’ll need you at full strength then.
