The Los Angeles Dodgers will be debuting their Nike City Connect uniforms tomorrow against the New York Mets and you can order yours today.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be rocking their new Nike City Connect uniforms on Friday, August 20 against the Mets. The uniforms are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the incredible 1981 season of Fernando Valenzuela.
That season — which was ultimately shortened by a player’s strike — Valenzuela ascended to superstardom and ushered in ‘Fernandomania.’
Valenzuela won his first eight starts of the season, five of which were shutouts. He finished the campaign with 13 wins and a 2.48 ERA.
In addition to Fernandomania, the Dodgers have an obvious and wonderful connection with the Latin community in California (and elsewhere). And finally, you’ll notice the City Connect gear has some Los Angeles street art-inspired spray paint splotches.
There were plenty of rumors last winter about a purple and gold Lakers-inspired uniform, but there’s an undeniably cool number of connections to Los Angeles with this uniform design.
If you love the look, then you’re in luck. You can order your City Connect gear now at Fanatics. Check out some of the items below.
