Time to bury the San Diego Padres! The Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance to kick their division rivals to the curb in this upcoming three-game set and focus on capturing the NL West from the San Francisco Giants.

The pitching matchups really couldn’t be worse for the Pads … but we’ll get into that in a moment.

The Dodgers have won 15 of their last 19 games and will now face a hobbled Padres team that just fired their pitching coach after losing nine of their last 11 contests to fall 13.5 games out of the division.

That’s far from their only problem, though. Their offense continues to go radio silent. The rotation is decimated with injuries. The bullpen is far from nails. Sounds like … the opposite of the Dodgers? Life is good. So let’s get into the betting preview for Tuesday night!

What Time is the Dodgers Game Today?

The Dodgers and Padres will kick off their series at Petco Park in San Diego at 7:10 PST Tuesday night.

Dodgers vs Padres Odds Today

Thanks to our friends at WynnBET, we have the Dodgers coming in at a -140 (bet $140 to win $100) favorite on the moneyline with the Pads as the underdog at +120 (bet $100 to win $120). On the run line, the Dodgers are -1.5, meaning they have to win by two or more, and that’s at a favorable +115 (bet $100 to win $115) while San Diego is +1.5 at -140 (bet $140 to win $100).

The over/under for runs has been set at 8.5. If you think nine or more runs will be scored, that’ll cost you -125 (bet $125 to win $100). The under is a bit cheaper at +104 (bet $100 to win $104).

Dodgers Pitcher Today

Julio Urias (13-3, 3.29 ERA) takes the bump for LA and the Padres will counter with Pierce Johnson (3-2, 2.49 ERA), who has never made a start in his career. San Diego rocked Urias earlier in the year, which has ended up being his worst start to date, but he’s been rock solid ever since with the Dodgers 7-2 in his last nine trips to the mound.

After Johnson’s first 1.1 scoreless innings against the Dodgers in mid-April, they bombarded the right-hander for three runs a week later and he didn’t record an out. Blown game. Dodgers win, 5-4.

If Urias can provide five innings of length, that’ll probably be enough since the Padres are going to be asking a lot of their bullpen against one of the league’s deepest offenses.

Dodgers Starting Lineup

Though we’re still waiting for Mookie Betts to be activated, this…isn’t half bad.

Dodgers vs Padres Prediction Today

The Padres are going with a bullpen game and it only gets worse for them since they’ll have to face Walker Buehler and Max Scherzer next. You might think San Diego is “due” but it’s hard to be on them or against the Dodgers at this point, especially with this unbalanced pitching matchup. The line does seem “fishy” because LA isn’t a heavy favorite, but it’s almost always worth it to take arguably the best team in MLB when they’re getting a betting-friendly figure.

Dodgers win, 3-2, and the -140 was a steal all along.
