With the San Francisco Giants off on Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers had an opportunity to pick up a half-game in the NL West standings with a win over the St. Louis Cardinals in their series finale.

However, the Dodgers’ lineup wasted a valiant effort from Tony Gonsolin and the bullpen, as they were limited to just four hits in a 2-1 loss.

Los Angeles is now 2.5 games back in the division and the Giants begin a series with the Cubs, who, despite free-falling after the trade deadline, are somehow 8-2 in their last 10 games. Still, we’d rather be playing Chicago than the Padres, whom the Dodgers will lock horns with over the weekend.

The Dodgers and Padres have produced fireworks seemingly in each of their 13 meetings this season, and fans will be expecting more of the same on Friday. Let’s take a look at the betting preview for the game.

What Time is the Dodgers Game Today?

First pitch from Dodger Stadium is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. EST.

What Channel is the Dodgers Game on Today?

Dodgers vs Padres Odds Today

According to our friends at WynnBet, the Dodgers are favored -150 on the money line (bet $150 to win $100), while the Padres are set at +130 (bet $100 to win $130) to win outright.

The Dodgers have better odds on the run line, coming in at +135 to cover -1.5 (win by at least two runs. The Padres, meanwhile, are -160 to cover +1.5. That bet will cash if San Diego wins or loses by one run, so keep that in mind.

Dodgers Pitcher Today

Julio Urias will take the mound for the Dodgers on Friday. The star lefty leads MLB with 16 wins and has a 3.11 ERA, 168 strikeouts and a 1.049 WHIP to show for it. As far as third starters go, Urias might just be the best in the league.

Urias will be opposed by Joe Musgrove, who’s 10-8 for the year despite posting a 2.87 ERA and 173 strikeouts over 26 starts. Musgrove has fared well vs the Dodgers this season, allowing just two earned runs across nine innings.

Dodgers Starting Lineup

Stay tuned! The lineup will drop closer to first pitch.

Dodgers vs Padres Prediction Today

The Dodgers don’t drop three games in a row very often, and we think they’ll get back on track against the Padres on Friday. Los Angeles always has extra life when Fernando Tatis Jr. and San Diego come to town, so expect the lineup to get back on track after it was stymied over the final two games vs the Cardinals.

Dodgers win a close one, 4-2.
