Dave Roberts and Los Angeles Dodgers made their long-awaited NLDS debut against the San Francisco Giants, as the two bitter rivals were meeting in this division series for the first time ever. That enthusiasm lasted for about a handful of innings, unfortunately.

Walker Buehler was beaten up by Buster Posey and the Giants’ offense, and a dominant performance from Logan Webb, of all people, helped San Francisco take a quick 1-0 series lead.

With only two more poor performances like that enough to officially knock this team out of the postseason, the Dodgers need their tremendous starting pitching to step up and their bats to wake up.

Will they be able to take down San Francisco in this game? Or will the Giants hop out to a quick 2-0 lead in this series and back the defining champions into a corner that may be tough to escape from?

Dodgers vs Giants Odds Today

According to WynnBET, the Dodgers are very slim road favorites for Game 2. They check in at -112 on the moneyline (bet $112 to win $100), while the Giants come in as the underdogs at +102 (bet $100 to win $102).

LA is -110 to cover the -3.5 run line. The over/under is set at 7.0 runs, with the over getting -115 odds and the under checking in at -105.

Dodgers Pitcher Today

Los Angeles will start Julio Urias, who was an exceptional 20-3 with a 2.96 ERA this season. Both traditional and advanced stats show that he had one of the best seasons of any NL pitcher. He may not win the Cy Young, but he should certainly be ranked in the top five.

San Francisco will retort with their ace in Kevin Gausman. A breakout year doesn’t even begin to describe what the former No. 4 overall pick had this year, as his 2.81 ERA and 227 strikeouts helped take him from a slightly above-average pitcher to a genuine frontline starter.

Dodgers vs Giants Prediction Today

The Giants have been able to string together miraculous wins all season long, and now that Webb has put them in front, they can lean on an ace in Gausman. Simply put, this is not ideal for the Dodgers.

Even with that, Los Angeles has enough star power in the forms of Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, and others. They should be able to provide enough of a spark after Webb locked them up last night.

Look for LA to get a run or two off of Gausman early, forcing across just enough support to let Urias cook and the boys in blue pick up a victory.
