The Los Angeles Dodgers managed to fend off elimination once again in the NLCS, as the Atlanta Braves were blown away in Game 5 of the 2021 NLCS on the back of three Chris Taylor home runs. The Dodgers’ odds of pulling off a 2020 repeat and making it to the World Series have increased now that Game 6 is upon us.

Los Angeles managed to come back against Atlanta on their way to a World Series crown in 2020, and they might be able to do the same again if this team steps up and performs when the chips are down.

The pitching staff is clearly fatigued, with Max Scherzer’s fading arm health epitomizing that better than anything else. It’s incumbent upon this lineup to once again catch lightning in a bottle and get enough timely hits to stave off elimination and force a do-or-die Game 7.

Will the Dodgers be able to replicate what they did in 2020? Or will the Braves finally get their ducks in a row and eliminate a team that has won 112 games this season before LA even gets to the World Series?

Dodgers vs Braves Odds Today

According to our friends at WynnBET, the Dodgers are still the favorites. On the moneyline, Los Angeles checks in at -150 favorites (bet $150 to win $100), while Atlanta sits at +140 (bet $100 to win $140).

On the run line, the Dodgers are +115 underdogs to cover a -1.5 spread and beat the Braves by two runs or more. The Braves are -135 to either win outright or lose by a single run. The over/under’s been set at 8.5, with the over checking in at -105 and the under at -115.

Dodgers Pitcher Today

The Dodgers will start Walker Buehler, who gave up four runs in 3.2 innings against Atlanta in Game 3. Will Buehler be able to overcome his Braves demons and get the Dodgers to a Game 7?

The Braves will start Ian Anderson, who was roughed up in his first start of the series. Still, with a 3.58 ERA in the regular season, Anderson should be able to bounce back and put in a solid performance against this lineup.

Dodgers vs Braves Prediction Today

The Dodgers are not fully healthy given the Justin Turner news, but the Braves are one win away from the World Series without Ronald Acuna, so it’s impossible to use that as an excuse. Any little slip-up could prove to be costly, but Los Angeles should still feel confident with Buehler on the mound.

As long as LA manages to get semi-competent pitching in what has become a house of horrors for their collection of arms, they should be able to skate by with a win and force a crucial Game 7.
