Rival fans have tried at every turn to discredit the Los Angeles Dodgers by making flawed comparisons of their financial advantage over nearly every team they faced off against in their quest to repeat as World Series Champions.

First, it was the Cincinnati Reds, then the Milwaukee Brewers, and even in the lead-up to the World Series, propaganda painting the Toronto Blue Jays as some sort of small-market runt began to pop up.

The fact of the matter is that nearly every team out there could replicate what the Dodgers do to a degree if they so chose, but many prioritize profit over pennants and rings. However, as the Dodgers hoist the trophy for the second straight season, the celebrations from aces Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow will draw the ire of many.

Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow celebrating the Dodgers' World Series victory is going to have a lot of people salty

Snell and Glasnow were at the center of the jubilant celebration, and their comments about what winning the ring meant are going to have some people upset.

Yup. If you can't beat them, join them. Snell and Glasnow were the anchors of the Tampa Bay Rays' rotation back in 2020, falling short in the World Series in six games in what proved to be the start of the Dodgers' current run.

Now, half a decade later, they're popping champagne, celebrating their fortunes after joining the biggest juggernaut in the MLB.

If there's a team that has a legitimate gripe about the way things are currently set up, it's the Rays. Despite perennially putting a competitive product on the field, the Rays struggle to put butts in the seats.

The cash-strapped franchise was forced to play its home games this year at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home of its rival, the New York Yankees, thanks to severe hurricane damage to Tropicana Field that they could not afford to fix in time for the season.

Financial constraints have led the Rays to trade away many top talents, Snell and Glasnow included, over the years, as they must extract value from them before losing them for nothing in free agency.

But before you break out the violins for the Rays, it's that exact strategy that has helped them stay competitive year in and year out. Tampa has yet to reach the mountain top, but they've been to the World Series twice in their short history, with the first appearance coming in 2008 and the second in 2020.

From 2008 to the present day, the Rays have only suffered six losing seasons and have only lost more than 85 games once in that span (94 losses in 2016). In reality, that's a more impressive track record than most franchises can boast, and even more noteworthy considering that the club only came into existence in 1998.

The Rays might be the poster child for the small-market team, but in many ways, they are the outlier. While others like the Pirates and the Athletics have mismanagement to blame, Tampa has suffered by virtue of playing in a market where a passionate fan base just doesn't seem to exist.

In that way, as much as people will hate the Snell and Glasnow celebration, they are the exception that proves the rule when it comes to the fact that the Dodgers are, in fact, not bad for baseball.
