The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping to turn the page after a disastrous start to the NLCS against the Brewers. After finding themselves down 2-0 to Milwaukee, the Dodgers have to hope that the day off and coming back home will allow them to turn the tide back in their favor. While we don't know how much superstar Shohei Ohtani will be able to help the cause, LA is pulling out all the stops to make sure the home crowd in LA will be hyped up and ready to make some noise for (hopefully) the next three games.

The atmosphere at Dodger Stadium during the playoffs is already second-to-none. However, the team made sure to pull out all of the fan favorites they could get their hands on to throw out the first pitches for Games 3, 4, and 5.

Rick Monday, Orel Hershiser, and Shawn Green have been tapped by Dodgers to throw out first pitches in NLCS as LA tries to extend series

There are rarely ever bad choices made when it comes to first pitches for playoff games, although that doesn't mean there aren't first pitches that go awry. However, having Dodger legends Rick Monday, Orel Hershiser, and Shawn Green take the mound to get the crowd into the game right away is very fun.

Monday played the final eight seasons of his 19-year career with the Dodgers, and is best known for famously thwarting an attempt to burn an American flag on field, as well as crushing the hopes and dreams of the Expos. He gets the ball for Game 3 at 80 years old, although he could probably crack the Cubs starting rotation right now, if we are honest with ourselves. No word yet if he is bringing the flag.

Next up is Hershiser, who needs no introduction. Hershiser won a Cy Young in 1988, a season where he set a major league record with 59 straight scoreless innings. He would end up playing for 18 seasons in the majors, with the first 12 (as well as the last season) coming with LA. Hershiser has become a staple at Dodgers events and will take the mound for Game 4.

Finally, we have Shawn Green, who may be one of the most underrated sluggers in baseball history. While he only ended up with 328 homers in his career, 162 of them came during his five-year run with the Dodgers. Thankfully, LA fans remember very well what the two-time All-Star for the team (including his four-homer game against ... the Brewers), and you can expect a raucous welcome when he takes the mound at the start of Game 5, assuming that the Dodgers can force the series to last that long.
