Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández endeared themselves as a favorite duo to fans almost immediately after they put on Dodgers uniforms for the first time. The moment that marked the start of the relationship came when the team posted a video of the duo at spring training, featuring Hernández teaching Ohtani how to say "Good morning, fans" in Spanish.

The bromance raged throughout the entire season as well, with many a sunflower seed shower for both as they mashed a collective 87 home runs during the regular season. Ohtani didn't need to do much, if anything, to make Dodgers fans glad to have him for the next decade, but Hernández quickly ingratiated himself as a newcomer as well.

Before Hernández was re-signed, (rightfully) impatient fans occupied themselves posting screenshots from that first video and turning them into a "This is a set, do not separate" meme. They got their wish a few days after Christmas, and Hernández will be back in Dodger blue at least through 2027.

After things were official, he singled out his relationship with Ohtani as a highlight during his first year as a Dodger, noting, "When we played against each other, for some reason, he always greeted me… since I arrived at training camp, he always greeted me. At that time, we felt a little more alone and found refuge in each other."

Teoscar Hernández's comments on bond with Shohei Ohtani will make Dodgers fans even more relieved about his re-signing

With (Teoscar) Hernández back in the fold, Kiké Hernández is the odd man out as the only position player yet to return. Although he did make a recent plea to come back to the Dodgers, their surprising signing of Korean utilityman Hye-seong Kim on Friday will likely put an end to any conversations Hernández might've been having with the club about another reunion.

There was a lot of talk about the Dodgers' Big Three (Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Ohtani), and then some about a Big Four (all of the above and Will Smith), but (Teoscar) Hernández's return might require even further amendment to a Big Five. He and the Dodgers quibbled on the amount of years the team would guarantee him, and there's always the risk that a decline will follow his massive 2024 season, but he seems primed and ready to do more good work for the Dodgers in 2025.

And Ohtani and Hernández will get to stick together. Petition for the Dodgers social media admin to post more bromance content.
