Baseball is almost back, folks. The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off of their 2024 World Series victory, will begin the long process of trying to go two-for-two in just a few weeks when pitchers and catchers report to Arizona for spring training.
Just like last year, the Dodgers have an action-packed mid-February through mid-March before they open their season overseas. Here's everything fans need to know.
Dodgers Spring Training Report Date, Location & Other Important Dates to Know
Pitchers and catchers report: Tuesday, Feb.11
Dodgers pitchers and catchers will be the second in the National League to report to Camelback Ranch in Glendale on Feb. 11, two days after the Cubs arrive at Sloan Park in Mesa. This is probably when fans will get their first glimpse at Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell in their new Dodger blues.
First full-squad workout: Saturday, Feb. 15
The rest of the roster, including 24 NRIs — Sasaki, top prospects Dalton Rushing, Alex Freeland, Zyhir Hope, Josue De Paula, among others — will report four days after pitchers and catchers arrive.
First spring training game: Thursday, Feb. 20 vs Chicago Cubs
The Dodgers will stage their first home spring training game as part of a two-game set against the Cubs on Feb. 20, as a preview for the Tokyo Series in March. They'll follow it up with games against the Royals and Padres at home, the Reds away, and so on until March 11.
Opening Day: Tuesday, March 18 at Chicago Cubs (Tokyo Series)
As with last year's Seoul Series, the Dodgers have a brief recess in their spring training to officially open the season overseas. Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Sasaki, and the Dodgers will take on Shota Imanaga, Seiya Suzuki and the Cubs in Tokyo for a two-game series. Both clubs will also play exhibition games against NPB's Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants.
Home opener: Thursday, March 27 vs Detroit Tigers
After the Tokyo Series, the Dodgers return to the States for a spring training Freeway Series against the Angels before their home opener at Dodger Stadium in a day game (the first of three) against the Tigers.
