The Los Angeles Dodgers have their hands full this weekend. While it is genuinely exciting to see Clayton Kershaw back on the mound despite the rocky 2025 debut, having go up against a really tough Mets team on the road is not exactly ideal. Making matters worse, Kershaw's return tour in New York has been unfortunately interrupted by some crummy weather.
Kershaw had done well to navigate the first couple innings of the game with a walk being the only blemish on his line. However, his night could be cut short anyways as we are officially in the rain delay and now it looks like it could be a lengthy one.
**UPDATE: 9:09 PM EST/6:09 PM PST**
It did indeed take a bit to get this game back under way, but have a restart time now as the powers that be have decreed that by 9:35 PM EST, the conditions will be good enough to finish this game up.
The game will resume at 9:35 ET

A one hour, 38 minute rain delay
Dodgers vs. Mets Rain Delay, 5/23: When will the game restart?
Harris was pretty spot on with his assessment here. While the weather was supposed to clear up relatively quickly for a bit, more rain is expected to be coming through. These two teams are going to do everything in their power to get this game in tonight as doubleheaders for split coast games can be nightmares. We may be waiting a while, but this game should happen within the next hour or two.
We will keep this post updated as more information becomes available and we get a firm restart time. Get comfortable, because we may be waiting a while.
