Sunday did not get off to a banner start for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fans fears were unfortunately confirmed that Mookie Betts is headed for the injured list with an oblique injury, although it does give Hyeseong Kim a chance to show he deserves a big league roster spot at least. Thankfully, going up against the Nationals isn't particularly scary, although LA now has to also deal with some less than ideal weather as well as the loss of Betts.
This spring has seen some truly bizarre weather where it feels like it has been freezing one day and oppressively hot the next. That sort of yo-yo weather has led to storms that are popping up at weird times and in weird places and unfortunately, the east coast is getting peppered this weekend and the Dodgers now find themselves in a rain delay.
**UPDATE: 2:54 PM EST**
Barring changes to the forecast, which could happen, it looks like this game will get started at around 12:45 PM PST (3:45 PM EST for the east coasters).
First pitch tentatively scheduled for 3:45 ET/12:45 PT https://t.co/eiS3XO6Cm7

Dodgers vs. Nationals Rain Delay, 4/5/26: When exactly will this game start?
With this being the last game of the series, you can bet they are going to try and get this game in. Everyone involved will not want to try and make the game up during a mutual off day later in the season if they can help it. Thankfully, unlike some other games around the league, this rain is supposed to move out an hour or two after the initial game start time, so we should get to watch some baseball today.
We will keep this post updated as information such as a possible start time and additional forecast details becomes available. Before too long here, we should be able to see Roki Sasaki and the Dodgers try to take down Foster Griffin and the Nationals before too long here.
