As the 2025 season's gotten underway, the Dodgers have said that they want to put their 2024 win in the rearview mirror and focus on the new, long year, but they still have one major event to put a final bookend on their World Series victory: the ring ceremony.

The Dodgers opened their season with a bang on Thursday when they beat the Tigers and reigning Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal 5-4 thanks to homers from Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández, and Shohei Ohtani. On Friday, they'll receive their rings on the same night they'll face 2024 World Champion Jack Flaherty, who rejoined the Tigers in the offseason.

The ceremony will begin at Dodger Stadium about an hour before the first pitch, at 6:15 PM, but parking and stadium gates will open two hours prior, and the Dodgers are urging fans to get to their seats as early as possible.

Steve Garvey, Orel Hershiser, and Manny Mota will throw the ceremonial first pitch — following up Kirk Gibson throwing to Freddie Freeman on Opening Day — and actor and comedian Anthony Anderson will emcee the ring ceremony. Both the ceremony and the game will be broadcast on SportsNet LA.

Jack Flaherty to receive his World Series ring at Dodgers' Ring Ceremony after rejoining Tigers

It's certainly a nice moment for Flaherty, who was one of the last higher-tier free agent pitchers left on the market pretty late into the offseason. He wasn't going to be able to come back to LA given all of the additions they made and the pitchers they expected to get back from injury, but the Tigers got him back on a two-year, $35 million deal (with a player option for the second season) after trading him to the Dodgers at the deadline in return for prospects Thayron Liranzo and Trey Sweeney.

Sweeney has already become an integral part of the Tigers' strategy at shortstop this season as they try to give Javy Báez as little playing time as possible while waiting for his contract to expire, and Liranzo is making huge waves in the minors as Detroit's No. 5 prospect.

Everyone knows the Dodgers are the team to beat this year, but there's a very long season ahead. They'll get one final moment to fully bask in their success in 2024 before taking the field and continuing efforts to fulfill the organization's goal of turning the team into a dynasty.
