The Los Angeles Dodgers escaped Game 6 with an unbelievable double play to end the Toronto Blue Jays' threat in the bottom of the ninth inning. The drama was dialed all the way up to 10, and the voice of the Dodgers Joe Davis — who's also on FOX's national broadcast during the World Series — met the moment as only he could.

Davis has been at the center of some unnecessary controversy throughout this year's Fall Classic. No doubt a Dodgers' homer during the entire regular season, Davis is supposed to act as an impartial voice during the World Series.

Joe Davis' call of Dodgers win set the stage for Game 7 of the 2025 World Series

While some may disagree — many of them from rival fanbases — Davis has actually done a phenomenal job as the play-by-play broadcaster for the 2025 World Series. His call of the final play during Game 6 was no different.

Oddly enough, all the scoring in Game 6 happened during the third inning. The Dodgers plated three runs thanks to an RBI single from Will Smith and a two-RBI double off the bat of Mookie Betts. An RBI single courtesy of George Springer brought the Jays with two, but the 3-1 Dodgers' edge held up until the ninth inning with the game on the line.

A hit-by-pitch to jumpstart the inning was followed by a bizarre play in which a fly ball off the bat of Addison Barger became wedged at the base of the outfield wall. By rule, Toronto's runners were placed at second and third with nobody out, which set the stage for the game-ending double play.

Tyler Glasnow came on in relief of Roki Sasaki and quickly recorded a fly ball out. Andrés Giménez then laced a 1-0 fastball into left field, but Kiké Hernandez came on quickly to secure the catch and then threw on to to a covering Miguel Rojas at second base to for the final out of the game.

"Hernandez makes the catch," Davis said. "Back to second. Game 7 tomorrow night!" It doesn't get much better than that, folks.

Davis' call was eerily similar to Joe Buck's narration during Game 6 the 2011 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers. The venerable broadcaster watched David Freese launch a game-winning homer in the bottom of the 11th and said, "Freese hits it in the air to center. We will see you tomorrow night."

Davis continued his ascent to broadcast greatness with his call on Friday in Toronto, and Dodgers fans are hoping for some memorable moments during Game 7 on Saturday.
