The Los Angeles Dodgers still own the NL West after taking down their arch nemesis in Game 5 of the National League Division Series on Friday night. In front of the home crowd at Dodger Stadium, LA ousted the San Diego Padres by a final score of 2-0, eliminating the Friars from the playoffs. The Dodgers can now turn their attention to the New York Mets with the NLCS starting Sunday.

While Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Dodgers' pitching staff certainly deserve heaps of credit for keeping the Padres' bats in check, Kiké Hernandez got the scoring started with a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.

Hernandez was interviewed by FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal following the game and his comments went viral. Rosenthal asked, "What is different about this particular team?" Hernandez paused, took it all in and asked, "Are we live?" After receiving assurance from Rosenthal that the cameras were indeed rolling, Hernandez responded, "The fact that we don't give a f---." Hernandez gave a sheepish grin and Rosenthal sent the Dodgers' infielder on his way.

This wasn't a slip of the tongue on the part of Hernandez, and his comments actually came across as immature and somewhat embarrassing given the situation. Perhaps the Dodgers outfielder was tired of the questions and wanted to return to the celebration with this teammates; which he did once the interview was over.

Hernandez's inclusion in the Dodgers' starting lineup for Game 5 likely would not have happened if LA was fully healthy. After infielder Miguel Rojas was ruled out for Game 5, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had to reshuffle his lineup by moving outfielder Tommy Edman to shortstop and popping Hernandez into center field. With Rojas' status for the next series up in the air, Hernandez will likely be relied upon heavily in the upcoming NLCS as well.

This was a series filled with emotion, and Hernandez let it spill over into his postgame interview. But while Hernandez and Dodgers broke out the champagne on Friday night, Los Angeles' ultimate goal is still unfulfilled. The Dodgers have their sights set on a trip to the World Series and that begins on Sunday at Chavez Ravine.
