There are a few notable major leaguers who are so online that opposing fans should only roast them via Twitter at their own peril. A lot of them are Dodgers or former Dodgers, too — Jack Flaherty, Walker Buehler, Justin Turner, Gavin Lux, and Kiké Hernández are all known for being willing to clap back at a moment's notice, and to do it pretty well, too.

Hernández was the latest to be trifled with. Padres account Devine Sports Gospel replied to a tweet from the Portland Pickles, a college summer team, looking for a thief who had broken into their team store. The Pickles described him as a "short, weak little man" with a "pathetic hunched over crouch-walk."

The admins at Devine Sports Gospel couldn't help themselves; they sent a stray at Hernández by posting a picture of him with the caption "we got him."

Hernández's response was simple and elegant. He replied with a GIF of his solo homer from the second inning of Game 5 of last year's Dodgers-Padres NLDS.

Kiké Hernández had the perfect response for Padres fans who (foolishly) tried to roast him

Lest we forget, the Padres were on the brink of an NLDS victory before they went 24 scoreless innings following their six-run bottom of the second in Game 3. Hernández hit .333 with a 1.000 OPS against them during that series, and that solo homer in Game 5 also gave us the now-infamous Hernández-Lux pelvis bump celebration after he'd crossed home plate.

Even Devine Sports Gospel themselves didn't have a comeback for Hernández's succinct response. Instead, they waved a white flag: "lol this f—ing guy." Former Padre Eric Hosmer even chimed in then, with a GIF from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia reading, "You got got."

The Dodgers-Padres rivalry is perhaps fiercer now than it's ever been, especially after Roki Sasaki just spurned the Padres after fans really seemed to think that they were going to get him. San Diego certainly doesn't look like it poses a threat to LA in 2025, given the fact that they still have yet to spend any money in free agency at all.

Hernández is still floating on the free agent market, but there could be room for him to re-sign with the Dodgers if they want to get a little creative with the roster. For his struggles in the regular season, the guy really does turn into a god during the postseason.
