Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher Blake Snell confirmed Thursday that his Seattle-area home was broken into the day before he made his Opening Day start against the Detroit Tigers.

According to local authorities, no one was home at the time of the break-in, and officers found a broken window upon arrival. An investigation into the break-in is still ongoing.

“I can confirm that our home was recently broken into,” Snell said in a statement sent by his representative. “Thankfully no one was harmed. We’re working closely with local authorities and are incredibly grateful for their swift response and ongoing support. We have security footage that is actively assisting in the investigation, and we’re confident the individuals responsible will be caught and removed from our community. If you know something, say something — please contact local law enforcement."

Later that same week, a break-in was reported at the home of retired NFL player Richard Sherman, who also resides in the Seattle Area. Local authorities have yet to determine whether the two incidents are related.

Shohei Ohtani Bobbleheads from Dodger Stadium giveaway already fetching absurdly high prices online

The Dodgers gave away bobbleheads commemorating Shohei Ohtani's historic MVP season at Wednesday's home game against the Atlanta Braves. (The Dodgers would go on to win that game thanks to a walk-off home run by Ohtani himself. Naturally.)

All fans in attendance with a valid game ticket received Ohtani MVP bobbleheads. Unsurprisingly, hundreds of them have already made it to the resale market, where they've become quite the hot commodity. According to Chuck Schilken of the Los Angeles Times, the majority of the bobbleheads have sold in the $150 to $170 range, while a limited edition version featuring Ohtani holding a silver bat is listed on eBay for $1,450.

Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin to begin minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City

Right-hander Tony Gonsolin is set to begin his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he is scheduled to get the start on the mound Thursday against El Paso.

Gonsolin is on the injured list with back tightness that he suffered while weightlifting during spring training. He is expected to pitch two innings on Thursday, which will mark his third time facing live hitting since the injury.

Gonsolin hasn’t pitched since 2023 after undergoing Tommy John surgery and missing the entire 2024 season. He made three minor league rehab starts at the end of last year, but he didn’t end up getting activated for the Dodgers' postseason run.

Gonsolin was in the mix for the Dodgers' No. 5 starter spot before landing on the injured list to open the season; that job has since been won by Dustin May. Gonsolin will presumably make multiple rehab starts before returning to the Dodgers, likely later this month, at which point Dave Roberts could have some difficult decisions to make with his rotation.
