These Los Angeles Dodgers broke a 25-year streak by becoming the first back-to-back champions with the World Series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays last year.
Since then, all the talk about from the national media has been whether or not they could follow that 1998-2000 New York Yankees squad into the hallowed halls of three-peaters.
Down 2-0 to the Brewers in the NLCS, however, the goal of Game 3 was merely about survival. Which is why Miguel Rojas' cleats suggesting that a third title is on the horizon has naturally garnered quite a lot of attention on social media.
Now faced with the prospect of having to win four games in a row to even advance to the World Series, baseball fans may be waiting for that three-peat to load for quite a long time.
Dodgers have been humbled by Brewers, but they're equipped to make an improbable NLCS comeback
Because the Dodgers have been so dominant for so long, fans of other teams rarely miss their chance dunk on Los Angeles when the opportunity presents itself.
Gonna find these at a local LA Goodwill next week https://t.co/NIzst10rqH

The good news for the Dodgers is that this series isn't over. A 3-0 deficit is daunting, but they're better equipped than most to come back from it. Tyler Glasnow will take the ball tonight against old friend Dustin May, giving Dave Roberts a clear advantage on the mound from the get-go.
If the Dodgers able to stave off the sweep at Chavez Ravine, they'll get one more game at home, this time with Tarik Skubal on the mound. Then, Game 6 in Milwaukee would allow them to deploy Yoshinobu Yamamoto again. After that would come a do-or-die Game 7 with Blake Snell eyeing a chance at redemption after Jake Bauers got the better of him last night.
That's a lot of looking ahead for a team that hasn't won a game in the NLCS to date, but it's a reminder of how stacked this roster is. Even with Jacob Misiorowski waiting in the wings, you'd have to like the Dodgers' chances of winning with Skubal and Yamamoto on the mound if they can get to their next starts.
It all starts with getting back in win column tonight and delaying the inevitable for another day. Failing that, Rojas may need to find the nearest dumpster in which to deposit his custom cleats.
