Miguel Rojas reminds Dodgers fans of Jazz Chisholm beef with shady Instagram activity

Miguel Rojas has serious aspirations to work his way up to major league manager after he retires at the end of the 2026 season. It's so serious that he's taken to shadowing Dave Roberts during games, and has full permission to ask him about his in-game decisions. Rojas has only ever gotten glowing reviews from his Dodgers teammates and is generally seen as a glue guy in LA's clubhouse.

He probably will get a managing job somewhere down the line — maybe even for the Dodgers, after Roberts decides to call it a day — but he might get asked (or, at least, should be asked) about some allegations that have followed him since his days with the Marlins.

Former teammate Jazz Chisholm Jr. has alleged that Rojas engaged in hazing when Chisholm was a rookie in Miami, which included pouring milk into his custom cleats and cutting them up, and contributing to a toxic environment in that clubhouse.

Rojas' comments since the allegations haven't exactly been pretty. He hasn't denied anything Chisholm has said, rather responded with, "I don't need to defend myself."

The two are playing on separate coasts right, about as far as two players can get from one another, but a conspicuous like on an Instagram reel makes it clear that bad feelings still exist.

This weekend, Chisholm came under fire for a dismissive response to a question about a double play he failed to make in the Yankees' Sunday loss to the Rays. He wasn't familiar with the specifics of the out and instead questioned reporters while seeming preoccupied fixing his earring, only to shrug off the response, "Well, I guess what I was trying to do in my mind probably wouldn't have worked anyway."

Yankees personality Joez McFly posted a response on his Instagram, which Rojas (probably gleefully) double-tapped on.

Flashy players like Chisholm oftentimes get a bad rap simply because they're flashy, but even Yankees fans who have previously defended Chisholm just wanted to see some accountability after their team was swept by the Rays.

This doesn't excuse Rojas' alleged behavior toward him which sounds, by all accounts, inexcusable, even if you still believe that rookies need to "earn" their places in major league clubhouses or the right to play the game the way they want to play it.

It does prove, though, that there are still hard feelings here. Chisholm, an impending free agent, said during the offseason that he would never go to the Dodgers (in more colorful language), which immediately made Dodgers fans look at Rojas, who won't be on the roster next season but is likely to remain close to the team.

Old beef dies hard. In this case, it's unlikely that it'll ever die at all.
