Former Dodgers lefty starter Julio Urías was placed on the second administrative leave of his career on Sept. 6, 2023. MLB was investigating an incident from a few days prior, when Urías was observed (and recorded) assaulting a woman outside of LA's BMO Stadium, arrested, and kept in police custody before posting bail.
During the suspension, MLB conducted their own investigation concurrently with an investigation by the LA City Attorney, after the LA District Attorney declined to pursue charges.
In May 2024, Urías plead no contest to counts of domestic battery and was sentenced to "36 months of probation, complete 30 days of community service, complete a year-long domestic violence counseling program, pay a fee to a domestic violence fund, pay restitution to the victim and abide by a protective order." Four other counts of battery were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
On Friday, MLB officially put an end date on their suspension; Urías will continue to be banned from baseball until the conclusion of the 2025 All-Star break. At that point, he will be free to sign with any team.

MLB to end former Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías' suspension after 2025 All-Star break
Urías was suspended just under a month before he was due to hit free agency after eight seasons in LA, so he'll become a fully-fledged free agent when the All-Star break is up.
Before the suspension, Urías was having the worst season of his career by far. He missed over a month from late May to early July with a hamstring strain, which kept him to 117 1/3 innings in 21 starts. He had a 4.60 ERA and accumulated just a 0.6 fWAR, as opposed to his 4.8 and 4.6 ERAs the two seasons prior.
The Dodgers have stayed almost completely silent on Urías since he was initially suspended, apart from a confirmation that he wouldn't be traveling with the team while MLB conducted its investigation. He's also been long since removed from murals at Dodger Stadium. While we shouldn't expect the Dodgers to weigh in on this ruling any which way, their silence says plenty enough as it is.
