The Milwaukee Brewers have a commanding 2-0 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays as the World Series heads to Florida. Milwaukee has been ruthless and relentless — something the Los Angeles Dodgers experienced firsthand.
In Game 1, the Brewers got out to an early lead and Tampa could never catch up. In Game 2, Logan Henderson gave up four runs in the first inning, but the Rays failed to score after that. The Brewers did exactly what they did to the Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLCS; the offense chipped away slowly as their bullpen locked in and declined to give up another run.
The Brewers have done this all year long. They were the winningest team in baseball for a reason. This dominance isn't surprising at all.
Disgruntled NL Central fans aren't having it, though. The Brewers are playing solid, gritty baseball, just like they have all year ... but they must be cheating.
Yeah when you’re blatantly cheating things like this happen https://t.co/43g5DBfz12

The Dodgers know very well what it means to be cheated out of the postseason, but this is not that. Max Muncy said it best when the Dodgers were down 3-0 to the Brewers in the NLCS: "We're playing like s—, and they're playing great."
Brewers' 2-0 World Series lead has NL Central fans losing their minds
The Rays aren't going down quite as easily as the Dodgers did, even with their current deficit in the series. They've made some fatal defensive mistakes and their lineup isn't looking very deep right now, but the Brewers are still winning on slim margins, because that's what they do. They exploit any weakness.
There are certainly some Dodgers fans who are buying into this "investigate the Brewers" narrative that holds absolutely no water, but we should all be able to call this what it is. The Brewers are just better.
The Dodgers' loss in the NLCS was entirely of their own making. Jake Bauers' home run against Blake Snell is something we'll always want to unsee, but leaving him in after issuing a leadoff walk in the seventh was a combination of Dave Roberts' poor decision-making and Bauers and the Brewers' ability to simply dig in and battle.
By no means do Dodgers fans have to root for the Brewers, but there's a difference between rooting for a team and recognizing when you've been bested. The Dodgers haven't had to be humble in a few years, but game should be able to recognize game.
