Bet on this player prop for Dodgers' Wednesday night game against Athletics

The Dodgers should find endless offensive success on Wednesday night when they take on the Oakland Athletics.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have grabbed a 2.5-game lead on the NL West and now they have a great opportunity to build on it as they continue their three-game series against the lowly Oakland Athletics.

The Dodgers took care of business against the A's in the series opener, beating them by a final score of 7-3.

Unsurprisingly, the Dodgers are heavy favorites in the second game of the series on Wednesday night, so instead of a bet on either side, I'm eyeing a player prop. Let's dive into it.

Athletics vs. Dodgers odds, run line, and total

Athletics vs. Dodgers prediction and pick

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the best team in the Majors in taking walks over the past 30 days. They're able to draw a walk on 11.6% of plate appearances.

Tonight, they'll face Hogan Harris of the Oakland Athletics, who has had major command issues this season. He has given up 3.7 walks per nine innings in 2023 and has allowed three or more walks in three of his last six starts. Meanwhile, four of the last seven starting pitchers to face this Dodgers lineup have allowed at least three walks each.

Sure, you can lay a big price on the Dodgers moneyline at -270 if you want, or you can bet on them to win by multiple runs at -130, but I think this walk prop is sneakily the best bet on the board. Anytime you can find a way to back the Dodgers in some capacity at plus-money against the likes of Hogan Harris and the Athletics, you absolutely have to take it.
