Dodgers fans will despise Bill Maher's wild NSFW take on Vin Scully

There are very few figures in the game of baseball that are beloved more than long-time Los Angeles Dodgers radio broadcaster, Vin Scully. Scully is not just the voice of Dodgers baseball but is arguably the greatest sports broadcaster that has ever lived.

Scully called and end to an impeccable 67-year career in the booth after the 2016 season and unfortunately passed away six years later in August 2022. Scully may be gone, but his legacy on sports as a whole and the city of Los Angeles will forever live on.

But not everyone is a fan of Scully, apparently. Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher recently had legendary broadcaster Bob Costas on an episode of his 'Club Random with Bill Maher' podcast and shocked Costas when he shared his feelings about the legendary Dodgers broadcaster.

"Vin Scully, I never liked him. I didn't, I'm sorry. I didn't like that voice. It grated on me. Melodic, no, he was not my favorite. Rest in peace, let's not have a feud about f---ing 89-year-old Vin Scully. Not everybody is my fan either, I'm not going to f---ing apologize. And he's not here anymore to be insulted by it and he shouldn't be insulted anyway because I'm allowed to not like him. Did he watch every episode of 'Real Time'? I doubt it. F--- Vin Scully!"

Bill Maher

Bill Maher will get slammed by Dodgers fans for his Vin Scully take.

Look, everyone has a right to like or not to like a broadcaster and their voice, I get it. Joe Buck is the most polarizing voice in sports with detractors and supporters and he is not losing sleep while he lays on his pile of cash. If Scully was still here, he would not be losing sleep over Maher's opinion of him, either.

That being said, Maher has the right to not like Scully and Dodgers fans have the right to (within the lines of reason) rip him a new one for his controversial opinion. Sometimes opinions can simply be wrong and this feels like one of those instances.

While it was said in a joking manner, it also is not a great look to send expletives Scully's way after his passing. Dodgers fans are rightfully not going to take kindly to that and are going to defend the person that they idolized for so long. Maher cannot dish it out and expect not to get some of it back in return.
