The Dodgers have sustained a truly ridiculous amount of injuries this year, but it seems that the time has finally come for the cascade of returns that we've all been waiting for. Last week, the Dodgers dropped a number of promising updates for a handful of their IL players, even some who haven't appeared at all yet this season.

But first, a bit of bad news: Bobby Miller has been shut down again, tacking another disappointing note onto a disappointing season. He was demoted to the minors on July 10 after a disastrous outing against the Phillies, when he gave up nine runs on 10 hits over just four innings.

His first start in Triple-A on July 20 looked good; he went five innings and gave up just three hits and no runs. However, his second was a blowup. He threw 3 2/3 innings and gave up six hits and six runs (five earned).

He was scratched from his most recent start in OKC, and Fabian Ardaya reported that the team was being careful with him after he reported adductor tightness while pitching a bullpen session.

The Dodgers might need Miller later this season and into the playoffs, if Yoshinobu Yamamoto can't return this year and Clayton Kershaw continues to decline, but it seems like Miller is in no shape to be the solution they need just yet.

Now to the good news. Dave Roberts told reporters that the Dodgers are hopeful for a Mookie Betts return next week during the LA's road trip to Milwaukee and St. Louis, specifically pinpointing Aug. 12 or 13. Freddie Freeman returned to the lineup on Monday after missing eight games to take care of his son, but the Dodgers seem to be getting very close to getting their Big Three back.

Max Muncy and Tommy Edman might not be too far behind Betts. Muncy had "a breakthrough" after seeing a chiropractor and seems to have taken a full 180 from where he was just a week ago. Betts, Muncy, and Edman -- along with Miguel Rojas -- are all scheduled to play a sim game on Thursday. Edman will have to complete a rehab assignment with the Dodgers, but will be cleared to make his season and Dodgers debut upon completion.

In pitching news, Michael Grove will be activated this week. Yamamoto also pitched a bullpen last week and will do so again on Tuesday.

The Dodgers are finally getting a ton of good news all at once after going through months of players dropping like flies. This is exactly what this team needs to get them through the dog days.
