The Los Angeles Dodgers know their job: Feed into Lakers season seamlessly, giving fans in Hollywood something to cheer about before LeBron James and Anthony Davis take the torch.

That's likely the motivation for the Dodgers' latest announcement, which adds a premium giveaway to their promotional schedule (as long as you purchase the right ticket).

As of this week, Fri., Sept. 1 is now "Lakers Night," in addition to a pre-scheduled fireworks spectacular.

In the past, this event has been held on 8/24 as a built-in tribute to Bryant's two on-court identities. Alas, this season, the Dodgers are on the road to face the Guardians that night, and something tells us Cleveland wasn't ready for an infestation of Lakers fans (or keen on running a promotion that celebrates the road team).

So, Sept. 1 it is, and an already premium game against the Braves has now gotten that much cooler. The jerseys go hard.

Dodgers Promotions: Here's how to get Lakers-themed Kobe Bryant jersey

Only fans who purchase a special event ticket package here will be eligible for the giveaway, which features Bryant's Nos. 8 and 24, along with mamba skin texture. This is not a stadium-wide promotion, so per the disclaimer on the Dodgers' ticket site, purchases must be made either through a group sales representative or the link above to ensure you get your jersey.

For some, hanging out in a stadium full of Lakers diehards feeling that preseason pride might be enough, but ... we know you want that jersey. Make sure to do it right. And -- if you're itching for a giveaway sooner -- allow us to remind you that LeBron James Bobblehead Day falls on Aug. 19.

The Dodgers have long celebrated their association with Bryant, the greatest winner in modern LA sports history. Hopefully, this remains an annual tradition following his tragic passing.

While Sept. 1 should be a celebration, Sept. 2 on the Dodgers' promotional calendar could get pretty awkward. That's slated to be Austin Barnes Bobblehead Night, who's currently hitting .104 and has been worth a remarkable -1.6 bWAR this season. He might be shopped at the deadline. He also might be on your shelf a full month later.

Stick to Lakers Night. You'll be glad you did.
