The Los Angeles Dodgers receive their first scheduled off day of the year tomorrow following a two-game series with the Colorado Rockies, and it'll feel nice to breathe after six straight days of battling the NL West's "two worst teams". This Rockies offense comes to play, though, and the Diamondbacks are athletically relentless.
Just because the Dodgers have MLB's best run differential through five games (a cool, calm and collected +22) doesn't mean they haven't earned a day of rest.
Before that day arrives, they'll have to face the Rockies' ace. Luckily, they're also sending out their best and brightest.
Dodgers Lineup for Tuesday, April 4 vs Rockies
You're in luck, Dodgers fans! James Outman and Jason Heyward together, in the same lineup once again.
Oh, and MOOKIE BETTS AT SECOND BASE. It's really going to be a thing this year. Buckle up.
We love it. He loves it. What's not to love?
Dodgers Pitching Probables for Tuesday, April 4 vs Rockies
The Rockies will send Germán Márquez to the mound tonight at 7:10 PM PST to finish this miniseries off. Always the trade rumor bridesmaid and never the trade rumor bride, Marquez had a solid Opening Day showing against the Padres, allowing a pair of earned runs in six innings and striking out five.
The Dodgers will counter with Julio Urías, who also allowed two earned in six innings to kick off the season (twinsies!), shrugging off some early struggles to finish off that beyond-respectable line. Urías whiffed six Diamondbacks in his 2023 debut without walking a single batter.
Márquez has a team option with the Rockies for 2024, but if the team decides to cheap out, he'll join Urías in next winter's free agent fray. But why would the Rockies do that? They've never done that before.
