The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a rare spot on Saturday night as they're set as betting underdogs to the San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers are coming off a 10-5 win over the Padres, and are also 10.0 games ahead of them in the NL West, but San Diego is rolling with red-hot Blake Snell tonight. Can the Dodgers get to the NL Cy Young candidate?

I think they can.

Let's dive into it.

Dodgers vs. Padres odds, run line, and total

Dodgers vs. Padres prediction and pick

The Padres are rolling with Blake Snell tonight, who has allowed just two earned runs in his last 32.0 innings pitched in July. That hot streak has skyrocketed him up to the top of the odds list to win the NL Cy Young, but I'm not totally buying it.

Sure, Snell is limiting runs with a 0.56 ERA in July, but he also sports a 1.500 WHIP, meaning he's putting an average of 1.5 runners on base per inning. Those two things don't matchup. Usually, when you allow that many runners on base, runs usually follow.

That's why I think he recent play is a little bit fraudulent and we're going to see regression from him sooner rather than later.

Now, he has to face a Dodgers team that leads the Majors in OPS over the past 30 days with a mark of .867.

I won't hesitate to bet on some Snell regression tonight, especially with the Dodgers being listed as significant underdogs.
