The Los Angeles Dodgers split a hard fought series against division foe Arizona Diamondbacks to start the season, and will now face another in the Colorado Rockies on Monday, continuing on its homestand to start the year.

The Rockies also split its opening set againt the San Diego Padres, but that's not the expectation for the team this season, projected to win the fewest games in the NL West this season. Can the Dodgers, who are the favorites to win the division yet again, start to string together wins against a lesser opponent?

Let's check out the odds and make a bet on this Monday night matchup:

Rockies vs. Dodgers prediction and pick

It was an up-and-down first weekend for the Dodgers, who scored eight and 10 runs in two wins but just one run in the two losses. The team will face Ryan Feltner on Monday night, who had a somewhat unlucky first full season in the bigs, posting a 5.83 ERA but that was supported by a 4.71 FIP.

Maybe Feltner gets some better luck in the field this season, but he will have his hands full with a Dodgers lineup that will look for consistency in the second series of the season.

The Dodgers will score, but if Feltner can get some positive regression year-over-year, this game may turn into a rock fight, given the team didn't score more than five runs in the first series against the Padres.

The Dodgers will counter with Michael Grove, who got a handful of starts in the big leagues last season (six to be exact) and allowed a handful of home runs.

However, this is a Rockies team that struggles to generate power away from the hitter friendly Coors Field. The team had the lowest slugging percentage in baseball last season on the road, and can be a good team for Grove to build his confidence against in his first start of the year.

The Dodgers offense isn't consistent enough to lay this kind of price, but I like the under in what could be a low scoring matchup on Monday night.
