Tyler Glasnow wasn't available to pitch on Tuesday in Arlington, but he did make his presence as an All-Star known. He was the only Dodgers teammate to stick around for the entirety of Teoscar Hernández's history-making Home Run Derby win, he was in the dugout during the game, and he spent some time speaking to the media ahead of the proceedings.

Although it would've been nice if he'd actually been able to play in the first ASG of his nine-year career, he did provide a very hopeful update on his regular season status. Glasnow's been out since June 6 with lower back tightness, dealing a huge blow to the Dodgers' pitching staff, which has blown a game against the Brewers, three against the Phillies, and two against the Tigers in his absence.

However, Glasnow told reporters that he's been throwing and feels good, and he "expects to be activated when eligible" on July 21.

This comes as a massive relief to the Dodgers -- the fact that Glasnow has bounced back quickly, of course, but also that the injury doesn't seem to have been severe enough to have lingering effects through the rest of the season.

Tyler Glasnow expects to activated from Dodgers IL as soon as he's eligible

The Dodgers are 28-26 over the last two months, including a miserable 4-8 stretch to start the month. Overall, June and July have been marked by bad-to-mediocre baseball from a billion dollar team, bad enough that their hold on the playoff No. 2 seed in the NL is slipping and could be taken over by the Brewers if this kind of play continues for LA following the break.

Having Glasnow, and maybe even Clayton Kershaw, back will at least add some much-needed predictability to this team. Glasnow didn't look exceptional through five starts in June and one in July, but it his presence would immediately take pressure off of the bullpen, who have been asked to carry extra workloads amid Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Walker Buehler's absences.

Hopefully, the Dodgers' victories through the All-Star break — Hernández's Derby championship, Shohei Ohtani's three-run homer in the game — on top of pitcher returns will spark something in this team and have them storming back in these last few months of the season.
