Two of the most high profile teams in baseball settle a three game series on Sunday Night Baseball in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are in a tie for the NL West lead while the Yankees are looking up at the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. This has been a measuring stick series for both teams that has been split through two games. Who will take the rubber match?

LA enters as considerable favorites with Bobby Miller on the mound while the Yankees send out Domingo German.

Here are the odds for Sunday's matchup:

Yankees vs. Dodgers odds, run line and total

Yankees vs. Dodgers prediction and pick

Miller has only made two starts in the big leagues but has looked the part so far, allowing only two earned runs across 11 innings. He has the backing of one of the hottest teams in baseball at the plate with the Dodgers checking fifth in batting average at .285 over the last 15 days, headlined by emerging MVP candidate Freddie Freeman. Freeman is hitting .336 on the year with 35 runs batted in this season.

The Dodgers face German, who has some concerning metrics moving forward. He has a 3.98 ERA, but his xERA is slightly higher at 4.28 and I expect it to get worse against this Dodgers lineup. German is walking nearly three batters per nine innings, but limiting damage by stranding 67% of batters. He is only allowing hitters to bat .200 on balls in play, so with some natural regression to the mean, more batters are going to get on base and cash in.

Look for the Dodgers to be one of the teams that do that. Not only is the club hitting at an elite level of late, but they one of the most disciplined team in the big leagues. The Dodgers are second in the bigs at drawing walks, an insane 11% rate this season.

I like the Dodgers to get up early with German's set to struggle and hold off the Yankees that have a diminished bullpen that used Clay Holmes on Saturday, among others, en route to a series win.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
