Toronto media might've just cursed Blue Jays by taking aim at Dodgers fans

Pride comes before the fall.

For those who have been living under a rock, the World Series is not going well for the Los Angeles Dodgers right now. LA hoped that shuffling their lineup around would spark some offense in Game 5, but instead the Blue Jays pulled away for an easy 6-1 victory to put the Dodgers on the brink of elimination and the series heading back to Toronto.

In short, Dodgers fans are feeling embarrassed at the moment, and the very real possibility of losing this series is beginning to sink in. The World Series isn't quite over, but it is very close.

However, Toronto media's trolling of Dodgers fans during Game 5 showed a shocking amount of hubris given the history of the World Series.

Dodgers have a real chance to use Toronto media's trolling as bulletin board material to mount comeback

Look, we appreciate some well-timed trolling as much as anyone here. This is the World Series and the two teams involved as well as their fans should be chirping back and forth right now. If you are going to make it this far, everyone involved should be emotionally invested in ruining the other team's dreams.

However, this post from Sportsnet feels like they are taking a premature victory lap. Yes, Toronto won Game 5 which definitely puts Dodgers in real danger, especially now that this thing is headed back to the Rogers Centre. However, there have been 20 times in World Series history where teams have come back from a 3-2 deficit to win the title. This isn't a situation where the Blue Jays are up 3-0 and the odds are grim. The Dodgers could absolutely win this thing, especially with Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound for Game 6 and Shohei Ohtani ready to be deployed out of the bullpen at a moment's notice.

One hopes that the Dodgers see this and use it as fuel to mount a comeback. Despite this team's flaws (and they certainly have them), they got this far for a reason. The Dodgers are a very dangerous team to taunt and if they aren't careful, the Blue Jays and their minions could find out why. Doesn't the city of Toronto know they should be treading lightly after all the choking they've done throughout their history?

The Dodgers have a chance to make a comeback for the ages, and this will be clipped in the championship documentary if they pull it off.
