On Tuesday night, former Dodger Walker Buehler put himself in the headlines with a foul-mouthed, made-for-discourse ejection, his first since signing with the Red Sox this offseason.

In the top of the third with Francisco Lindor at the plate and one out, Buehler got to a nice 0-2 count before spiking a curveball that bounced off of Lindor's foot. Buehler briefly argued with home plate umpire Mike Estabrook that Lindor had leaned into the pitch as he trotted to first, but the real trouble started with the very next batter.

Juan Soto was sitting at a ball and no strikes when Buehler threw a cutter that definitely should've been called for a strike, but wasn't. To make matters worse, Lindor stole second pretty easily.

Buehler started jawing at Estabrook for the missed call, and Estabrook yelled right back. Estabrook left his perch behind the plate and approached Buehler on the mound; Buehler stepped off the mound to meet him. Catcher Carlos Narváez tried to hold his pitcher back, but it was no use. Estabrook threw Buehler out as he continued to hurl profanities at him. Then, to make matters worse, Alex Cora got himself ejected right after.

That was only Buehler's second career ejection, but the behavior that followed was the part that Dodgers fans are familiar with at this point: he took to Twitter not only to challenge Estabrook again, but to take a profanity-laden parting shot at Lindor, who was loudly advocating for Buehler to be tossed from second base.

Former Dodger Walker Buehler had some characteristically NSFW words for Francisco Lindor, umpire after first Red Sox ejection

Buehler has never been one to hold anything back and has always been a little bit of a hothead, especially when it comes to social media. There were never any fireworks quite like this when he was with the Dodgers, but he frequently dealt in profanity that he eventually learned to self-censor in his last year with the club.

There was no censoring here. Replying to an assertion by crew chief Laz Diaz that Buehler got himself tossed because he came off the mound to challenge Estabrook, he replied, "Who cut the distance?". Quote-tweeting a highlight of Lindor gesturing for Buehler to get thrown out and then celebrating when he was, Buehler responded: "I wouldn’t want me out there either. Sad thing is the BULLPEN is full of f—ing animals. Tough choice."

The Red Sox did go on to win 2-0, with the bullpen covering 6 2/3 innings and giving up just four hits and one walk.

Dodgers fans shouldn't surprised by this kind of response from Buehler in the slightest, but it's a lot more fun to watch from a distance, when he's directly leading to a different team taxing their bullpen prematurely.
