The Los Angeles Dodgers are offering credits and refunds for tickets purchased for March and April home games.

After receiving guidance from Major League Baseball on the ability of teams to offer refunds for 2020 tickets, the Dodgers shared an update with fans on how they can go about requesting refunds for tickets purchased to Dodger games in March and April.

According to the update, the Dodgers will provide fans with an account credit for tickets to home games scheduled in March and April. For games scheduled beyond April, fans will still have to wait until further guidance is issued.

In an email communication sent to fans, the team offered more clarity on how refund requests will be handled in the coming weeks. Apparently, if fans call a dedicated Membership Service Representative, they can receive a refund instead of the credit.

The account credit will give fans the opportunity to earn a 10% bonus, which can be applied to future tickets, prepaid parking, food and beverages, merchandise, or a donation to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation for local COVID-19 relief.

The Dodgers were scheduled to open the season on March 26 against the San Francisco Giants. So far, five home games in March, and 12 home games in April have been swept away by the novel coronavirus. While these games could theoretically be rescheduled as part of a new schedule, it is highly unlikely games will be played in front of fans.

Dodger Stadium is set to host the All-Star Game in July, and while it seems impossible to imagine the event going on as planned, officially, it has not been canceled, which the Dodgers note in their recent press release.

Fans can monitor updates from the Dodgers on ticketing and other concerns through a new website set up by the team: www.dodgers.com/updates. The site also provides information on the coronavirus.
