Dodgers security was on heightened alert this week, with the cheating Houston Astros headed to town with a full-capacity crowd for the first time since news of their scandal broke.

Trash cans were seized. Costumed fans were side-eyed. Hecklers were warned. All in all, Los Angeles escaped the series without a serious hitch. The Hollywood sign was still standing.

Then, the Angels showed up and the city’s streakers attempted to take advantage of relative lack of attention by taking their shot at the Dodger Stadium turf.

Big mistake.

Unlike most of the week’s action, Sunday’s game no-doubt belonged to the Dodgers, with very little drama. Walker Buehler was again brilliant, raising his record to 12-2 and leaving his ERA at a sterling 2.13. Angels lefty Reid Detmers, not quite ready for prime time in his second big-league start, was lit up. There was plenty of time to focus on watching the other sights and sounds at the ballpark.

Like, for instance, this fan who snuck onto the field and out-sprinted the entire Dodgers security staff, only to get his bell absolutely rung by a hip check from the ballgirl.

The Dodgers’ ballgirl wrecked a streaker on Sunday at Dodger Stadium.

Bang. Right over the tiny wall down the right-field line like a rookie outfielder with no regard for his body.

The best part about this video? How close the streaker seems to believe he is to the finish line. He whipped across the entire outfield — seems joyful! — and left the whole security staff in the dust. Which is a shame, because their job is to catch and tackle people.

But right at the finish line came the Dodgers ballgirl, with a strategic move for the ages: use the runner’s momentum against him, and it’ll end in a pileup.

The overhead angle of the whole incident might be even better than the broadcast version.

Typically, Angels-Dodgers series end with a bit of extracurricular nastiness, and it’s not that exceptional to watch fans from each fan base go at each other during the late innings of a late-night game.

Luckily, this time the action spilled onto the field, and it was ended by someone who was extremely prepared for some foolishness.
