Chris Russo's meltdown over Joe Davis at Dodgers' World Series parade is insanity

Chris Russo is known for his loud and obnoxious takes, and Mad Dog's latest unhinged rant was no exception. Russo took aim at Los Angeles Dodger broadcaster Joe Davispopular target of late — for his role in the team's victory parade earlier this week.

Davis joined Sportsnet LA in 2015 and his role increased following Vin Scully's retirement. He now routinely calls about half of Los Angeles' games throughout the regular season. Davis, viewed as a rising star in the industry, also took over for Joe Buck in 2022 as the lead MLB voice for FOX's national broadcast team. And that's where's Russo's problem is rooted.

Russo became enraged at the sight of Davis — who was emceeing the event — celebrating alongside the Dodgers during the World Series parade. Davis, however, was not the sole source of Russo's frustrations. He also blamed FOX and the Dodgers organization for what he thought was an outrageous oversight.

"The body's not even cold yet," Russo screamed (describing the Blue Jays). "And I got Joe Davis at Dodger Stadium doing a freaking Dodgers parade ... That's bad! I'm sorry, I don't care what you say...That would piss me off if I'm a Blue Jays fan."

"If you're a Blue Jays fan, you're vomitting right now," Russo continued. "That is bad. I don't care what you say. You could say I'm being hard. That's ridiculous. Chris, what's the big deal? He does the games. Nonsense! He's the voice of the World Series — supposed to be right down the middle. Obviously he's rooting his a-- off for the Dodgers in the World Series."

Of course Russo went on and on for about another minute or so, babbling incoherently about how the Dodgers shouldn't have even had Davis emcee the event in the first place. But anyone who's ever heard Mad Dog speak knows he was just screaming into the void like some attention-seeking teenager on TikTok venting their frustration after Starbuck's ran out of soy milk for their overpriced peppermint latte. Gimme a break!

If there's anyone to blame in this situation — and there's not — it's FOX. But what are they supposed to do? Remove their A-team from the broadcast and give us the B-team of Jason Benetti and Bob Brenley?

Of course, if the Detroit Tigers (the team Benetti covers throughout the regular season) made it to the World Series, FOX would then have to reverse course again, right? What if next year's World Series features the Dodgers and Tigers? Ye gads, what a nightmare? Better have Chip Caray and Adam Wainwright on standby.

Also, it bears mentioning that nobody seemed to have an issue when Brian Anderson, the play-by-play voice for the Milwaukee Brewers, was on the call for TBS during the National League Championship Series. Where was the outrage then?

It's time for the media to stop feeling sorry for the Blue Jays and the entire country of Canada because Davis was on the mic for the final out of the World Series. Get over it already!
