Clayton Kershaw's reaction to Dodgers parade proves he deserves every second of this
The Dodgers earned their first World Series parade in LA since 1988 on Friday morning, and the fans didn't disappoint. The sidewalks through the entirety of the parade route through downtown LA were completely covered as fans tried to get a glimpse at the 2024 team, who were treating themselves to cigars and Budweiser on the top deck of seven double-decker buses ferrying them through the route.
David Vassegh and Kirsten Watson were traversing those upper decks, talking to players for SportsNet LA.
Clayton Kershaw was, of course, one of their first stops, as this is the first parade Kershaw has been able to celebrate in his 17-year career with the Dodgers.
He sounded completely overwhelmed as he screamed into Watson's mic, saying, "It's incredible. I've never gotten to experience anything like this, and it makes everything worth it."

Kershaw has already confirmed that he'll be back for the 2025 season to try to run this thing back with the team in the twilight of a legendary career. Although Kershaw still has to get that full-crowd postseason monkey off of his back and will get the opportunity to do so next year, he deserved to bask in this with the team that drafted him almost 20 years ago. He's been a part of 14 different Dodgers teams that have made it into October. Two of them have won National League pennants but fell short in the World Series. Two have won the whole thing, but this is his first parade.
When the procession got to Dodger Stadium, Kershaw got to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy in front of a packed crowd. He's had to wait a long time to do something like this, and he's taking the moment and running with it.
