The 2026 MLB Draft kicks off on NBC/Peacock on Saturday, July 11 at 10 a.m. PST with Rounds 1-4. Los Angeles Dodgers fans are going to have to wait a while to see LA make their first pick of the year after breaking through luxury tax thresholds and signing free agents with qualifying offers, but it's a small price to pay. Here's everything you need to know about where the Dodgers stand in this year's draft.

What is the Dodgers' draft bonus pool and where are they picking in the first round?

The Dodgers have a $3,951,900 allotment this year, less than half of their $9,031,300 total in 2025. Same as last year, though, they do not have a first round pick after "exceeding the second threshold surcharge of the Competitive Balance Tax" in 2025. The Dodgers will make their first selection of the year in the second round at pick No. 40.

Who are experts predicting the Dodgers will pick?

It's hard, if not impossible to say how a team will pick when you pass the top 10, and a lot of mock draft didn't even bother to guess as deep as LA's first pick, given that it's in the second round. However, Baseball America's latest mock has the Dodgers taking University of Virginia shortstop Eric Becker, who could take up most of their bonus pool at a $2,504,200 slot valuation. Becker is ranked No. 41 on MLB Pipeline's draft prospects list.

Fans should expect the Dodgers to stay opportunistic, though. If a prospect a sketchy history of injury falls out of the first round, the Dodgers could swoop in and take a chance on him (and sign him to an under-slot deal to free up a little more money). Andrew Friedman tends not to have a clear-cut preference when it comes to prep vs. college or position vs. pitcher, so LA's pick could be anyone's guess.

Complete list of Dodgers' 2026 MLB Draft picks

  • First Round: N/A
  • Second Round: No. 40
  • Third Round: N/A
  • Fourth Round: No. 132
  • Fifth & Sixth Round: N/A
  • Rounds 7-20: Every 30th pick

Rounds 1-4 will take place on Saturday at 10 AM on NBC/Peacock, while 5-20 are on Sunday on MLB Network. The Dodgers won't have to do the bulk of their work until the latter.

Again, LA's first round pick was pushed back 10 spots as a penalty for overspending. They lost their (official) second, third, fifth, and sixth round picks for signing Kyle Tucker and Edwin Díaz, who both rejected the qualifying offer from the Cubs and Mets respectively.
