Brock Stewart pitched just 3 2/3 innings upon his return to the Dodgers last year before he went onto the IL with shoulder inflammation. He managed to go on a rehab assignment at the very end of the regular season, but was shut down again and underwent offseason surgery, which doomed him to start 2026 on the IL.

For the most part, the Dodgers' bullpen has been solid so far. Even with Edwin Díaz on the IL, Tanner Scott has stepped up and has been the guy LA expected him to be last year. Alex Vesia remains solid as ever, and Kyle Hurt has looked good since he was called up when Ben Casparius went onto the IL.

Jake Eder, Díaz's replacement, has been fine through limited outings but is clearly at the bottom of the totem pole, so the Dodgers should be quick to make that swap when Stewart has completed his rehab assignment.

He's in the final stages now. He pitched his sixth outing in Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday and has declined to give up a run throughout his entire rehab assignment so far. Dave Roberts identified the Dodgers' desire for him to pitch an up-down before he returns, but it shouldn't be long now.

Dodgers Injury Update: Brusdar Graterol returns for rehab assignment after long absence

On Saturday, OKC communications manager Alex Freedman reported that Brusdar Graterol had joined the Comets on a rehab assignment, and he made it sound like a surprise for everyone involved.

Graterol was sidelined through 2025 after undergoing labrum surgery in 2024 and has not pitched since Game 5 of the 2024 World Series.

Dodgers fans know that when Graterol is right, he can be electric, but that's really only happened once in his career, when he set a career-high in innings at 67 1/3 for a 1.20 ERA in 2023. He hadn't pitched more than 49 2/3 prior, and only pitched 7 1/3 in 2024.

There's a pretty obvious casualty of the inevitable roster move to reinstate Graterol, too. Edgardo Henriquez, who has been compared to Graterol quite a bit in his young career, has a 5.23 ERA in 10 1/3 innings after giving up three runs in one inning during his last appearance.

The question is whether or not Graterol will actually be able to stay healthy this time, which is anyone's guess given his track record.
