The Los Angeles Dodgers wrapped up their 2026 draft on Sunday with 16 total picks, having lost their second, third, fifth, and sixth-round picks by signing free agents Kyle Tucker and Edwin DÃaz in the offseason; both players rejected qualifying offers from their former teams.
With their first pick at No. 40, they selected prep shortstop/third baseman Bo Lowrance, one of only three high school picks. LA used the majority of their picks (10) on college pitchers, the vast majority of whom went unranked by MLB Pipeline.

Lowrance projects to sign an overslot deal that will tax the Dodgers' already small bonus pool allotment of $3,951,900, so it makes sense that they would opt for longer shots with their following picks.

The Dodgers have the luxury of patience. Apart from Lowrance, few of picks look like they have a chance of becoming future stars. But Los Angeles doesn't need any of them to rocket through the minors and save the franchise anytime soon. And if none of them work out? The Dodgers will just buy more stars.
Dodgers News: Second consecutive visit to the White House scheduled
The Dodgers recently announced they would be accepting their invitation to visit the White House in commemoration of their 2025 World Series victory. This will be their second consecutive trip and it's set for July 23.
Dave Roberts said, "Honestly, like I've always said — my company line, my personal line — is I hope that we get this invitation every year, because that's the goal, to win a championship, to get this invitation to the White House." He reemphasized, however, that "this is an individual choice."
Mookie Betts and Kiké Hernández have both confirmed that they will be sitting out this year, Betts to spend time with his newborn daughter, and Hernández because he plans to be on a minor league rehab assignment. Ask if he would attend if not on assignment, Hernández said, "Probably not."
Dodgers News: First sweep of 2026 season comes against the D-backs
The Dodgers made it almost 60% of the way through the season before they suffered their first sweep of the year. On Sunday, they lost to their division rivals, the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3, and dropped a series in which they were outscored 23-8.
LA didn't play their cleanest baseball — far from it — but anyone who has the audacity to say that they're worried about this team heading into the All-Star break should be flatly ignored. The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and have an 11.5 game lead over Arizona. They're doing just fine.
