Tyler Glasnow has become a fixture in the Los Angeles Dodgers' championship rotation since he was traded to LA from the Tampa Bay Rays back in December 2023. Glasnow's five-year, $136.5 million extension that was signed in tandem with the trade made everything feel pre-destined and easy for the Dodgers to pull off, but in fact, they may have benefited from an assist on the Glasnow trade from an unlikely source: Brad Paisley.
That's right — the country music star and Dodgers superfan. Paisley revealed this past week that his home was actually the rendezvous spot for Dodgers and Rays front office members during the Glasnow negotiations.

Brad Paisley hosted Andrew Friedman, other Dodgers and Rays front office members during Tyler Glasnow talks
How did these people end up in Paisley's home, drinking from Paisley's bar until four in the morning? It all started when Paisley was hanging out there with his friend, Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman (and a bunch of other members of the Dodgers' front office).
At one point, when Friedman was on the phone with Rays PoBO Erik Neander, Friedman handed the phone to Paisley, and Neander was convinced that he was speaking to a Paisley impersonator before Friedman confirmed that he was, in fact, in Paisley's home.
One thing led to another. After Paisley offered to have Neander over, Friedman double-checked with Paisley that the offer was serious, and before you know it, Freidman, Neander, and front offices from both teams were hanging out and drinking from Paisley's bar.
According to Paisley, when Neander arrived at around 11 PM, he sat down at the bar and asked Paisley about his liquor selections, to which Paisley quipped that his most expensive stuff would be available once Neander agreed to the Glasnow trade.
A couple days following the meet-up, Friedman called Paisley and told him that the Glasnow deal was good to go, thanking Paisley for the "assist" on the transaction.
Tyler Glasnow's Dodgers fate involved Brad Paisley, but what's next?
Since coming to the Dodgers via a Paisley assist, Glasnow has won two World Series rings and bagged his first All-Star selection. Maybe he should be thanking Paisley, too. But seriously, Glasnow's arrival in LA was obviously the best thing for his career, and his ongoing tenure with the Dodgers will only look more special in the event that he's traded at some point, which has been rumored incessantly over the past year, though perhaps undeservedly.
The Dodgers' roster looks pretty darn solid right now (as does their sparkling farm system), so no major trades are necessary for Friedman and Co. as they look to win three in a row. But if and when the next big deal must go down, the location for negotiations should already be established.
