Coming off an absolute stellar start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and a lock-down performance from the bullpen, the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to hold the Braves in check and win 2-1 on Friday night. Rain in the Atlanta area did bring a mild delay right before the ninth inning, but the weather seems to be a bit more intrusive to Saturday's matchup.
There is a LOT of bad weather around the eastern half of the US today with a number of games being impacted to some degree including delays and postponements. Sadly, the Dodgers matchup with the Braves is one of them as we are going to be in a rain delay.
***UPDATE: 9:34 PM EST/6:34 PM PST***
Now we are talking. After waiting over two hours for word as to when this game will get started, the Braves announced that thing will get started at 10:15 PM EST/7:15 PM PST of course assuming that the weather behaves as officials expect it to.
Dodgers vs. Braves Rain Delay: Here is when the game is expected to start
The bad news is that we may be waiting a while for this line of storms to pass over the area around Truist Park. Forecasts had the rain starting right around game time and then taking around two hours to move off to the west. Neither team is probably excited about playing a doubleheader tomorrow, so expect them to try to get this game in even if they have to wait a while.
Once the game does get started, it should be a fun one. Roki Sasaki and his 3.55 ERA through the first six starts of his MLB career will take on young Braves star Spencer Schwellenbach. The Dodgers didn't have to deal with Schwellenbach when the Braves came to the west coast at the start of the season, so hopefully they have done their homework on how to attack him at the plate.
We will keep this post updated as the weather rolls through and we get more information on the latest forecasts and when this game gets started. You may want to strap in, because this could be a long wait.
